Data science and AI are shaping today’s industrial trends and future markets. We love to explore, identify, and develop this technology in the central research and development unit of Siemens with our business partners - and take the challenge to make this technology applicable to real world problems, real data, and real end users to generate business impact. Data science is booming and there are still lots of challenges: How to leverage trust in AI technology and products? How to make AI scalable, robust, and trustworthy? How to enable systems to explain AI decisions to end customers? Therefore, we focus research in our group towards Predictive Maintenance, Explainable AI, and Trustworthy AI. If you are as passionate about data and data analytics as we are - and if you like to drive data science from proof-of-concepts to real products of the future – get on board.

What part will you play?
  • Design, implement, and present innovative data science solutions
  • Take responsibility in data science projects with our customers: from the concept to the running demonstrator - create business impact
  • Consulting and project acquisition
  • Understand business needs and derive requirements
  • Identify trends in data analytics and artificial intelligence and actively share and develop your research contributions
  • Supervise data science students
What you need to make real what matters.
  • You have a Msc in Data Science, Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, Bio Informatics or comparable, PhD is a plus
  • You have gained at least 3 years experience with data science projects, industrial experience is a strong plus
  • Experience and publications in Trustworthy AI, Robust AI as well as Explainable AI is a strong plus
  • You master script languages like Python, R, Javascript and/or tools such as Sagemaker, Tableau, KNIME, jupyter lab/notebook
  • You use libraries such as pytorch, keras, scikit-learn on a daily basis
  • And you are able to visualize your results with libraries such as d3, plotly, matplotlib, bokeh
  • Cloud technology is not only a buzzword for you (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Excellent command of the English language. German knowledge would be a plus
